State Rep. and Democratic Caucus Co-Chair Josh Elliott appeared at a gubernatorial candidate forum hosted by FaithActs for Education in Bridgeport on Tuesday evening.

My heart breaks for the communities that are grieving. We all deserve to live free from fear and the out-of-control escalation in violence that these agents instill.

Elliott’s fundraising broke the all-time record for the Citizens’ Election Program, with $371,102 raised from a total of 5,877 donations, at a maximum of $340 per person.

Eversource and UI having monopolies in their regions means we will just wait and hope for the best. Meanwhile, we are currently being asked to pay some of the highest energy rates in the country.

The union, representing faculty and staff from Connecticut’s 12 community colleges, is the first to endorse Elliott as momentum builds for his primary campaign. 

The tour will highlight the issues facing Connecticut’s working families — tax reform, school funding deficits, energy costs, threats from the federal administration, and more — and the need for new leadership. At each stop, Elliott will be joined by local leaders, stakeholders, and community members.

In the past week, the state has seen a student detained by ICE, the city of New Haven sued over its immigrant protections, and an uptick in ICE’s presence in Norwalk. All signs that Trump is targeting Connecticut again.
