Elliott to Host Statewide "Build the Future" Tour

Josh Elliott, Democrat for Connecticut Governor, Announces Statewide “Build the Future” Tour

Hamden, CT – State Rep. Josh Elliott, the House Democratic Co-Chair and progressive leader running for governor, announced the Build the Future Tour, with rallies in 13 cities and towns across the state from June 11-17.

The tour will highlight the issues facing Connecticut’s working families — tax reform, school funding deficits, energy costs, threats from the federal administration, and more — and the need for new leadership. At each stop, Elliott will be joined by local leaders, stakeholders, and community members.

The tour will kick off in New Haven on June 11; followed by Waterbury on June 12; Danbury, Stamford, Norwalk, and Bridgeport on June 13; New Britain, Hartford, and Middletown on June 14; New London on June 15; Willimantic and Storrs on June 16; and Torrington on June 17. A full listing of events can be found here.

Elliott is waging the first primary challenge to a sitting governor in 48 years. On May 16, he far surpassed the 15% threshold among state party convention delegates to win a spot on the ballot. Since then, he announced having raised the $335,500 required to unlock a $3.7 million primary grant from the Citizens Election Program, allowing him to go toe-to-toe with incumbent Governor Lamont, a billionaire self-funder.
